Utah has state symbols. We learned about many of those symbols. For example, Utah's state emblem is a beehive. The symbols tell us about what Utah values. Imagine you had to choose three symbols to represent your family. What symbols would you choose and why?
We've been learning all about the water cycle. As you watch this cartoon animation, can you describe the journey a water droplet takes? Try to use our vocabulary words (precipitation, evaporation and condensation) in your description. Watch the following videos to learn how to print a Go Math homework assignment and log in to Spelling City.
The first week was a huge success! We spent our time together learning procedures and getting to know one another. We have such a great class! The students and I especially enjoyed participating in team building activities. Parents- thank you for completing and returning the forms sent home on the first day of school. Please check your child's take home binders this week for important information regarding passwords for several websites we will be using this year (Spelling City, Go Math, IXL, and Imagine It) . Students will be using the websites in the classroom, but can also access the programs at home for additional practice. Thanks for your support! Did you know you can view your child's grades online? Please take a moment to read the following documents. Both provide instructions for accessing your child's grades through Gradebook. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Accessing the Parent Portal Parent Portal and Set Up Welcome fourth graders! It was so fun for me to meet you and your families at back to school night. Some of you are brand new to our school. I am also new, but already love Gourley. I know this will be a fun and productive year. There are many things I am excited about. I can't wait to use our classroom computers. I am also excited to learn about the history of Utah. What are you excited about? |
